Web site designer & developer

About Me

I'm an experienced website designer and developer and I have been working full time in the industry for over six years but I have over eight years of experience.

In my full-time work I am currently re-designing and developing a website for a company that turns over in excess of £5 million a year, it is my responsibility to ensure the new design and build lives up to expectations and delivers success for the company. The website is due to go live in the coming months (December 2011).

I come from a background of building websites for a wide variety of clients, from four page brochure websites (like this one), to 500 page websites.

From a technical point of view, I specialise in HTML, CSS, jQuery, SEO, Design and WordPress.

In simple terms; I can build and design websites single handedly.

Below is list of my achievements over the years. Please do also check out my portfolio to see what I have built recently and if you like what you see please do get in touch about your project.

I've had my work appear in a book

In 2007, Larry Ullman, author and well respected programmer contacted me asking to feature one of my templates in his book, which I duly accepted and my work now features in his book "PHP 5 Advanced: Visual QuickPro Guide".

I wrote about @font-face

In 2010, whilst employed as a front-end web developer at Milton Bayer, I wrote an article about @font-face which has been viewed tens of thousands of times and ranks on the first page in Google for "font face" related queries. The link has been shared regularly on twitter by my peers. The article also ranks higher than the "Mozilla" and "A List Apart" articles on the same subject.

I've been in magazines too

In December 2008 I approached .net magazine and they agreed to feature my templates on their cover mounted CD for two months.

My designs have been used by 100,000+

I first started out by making open source website templates using the "downloads per day" and "overall downloads" on the websites where these were published as a motivator and a benchmark to keep improving my designs and code. This resulted in one of my designs being in the top 20 for over six years to date. I estimate that 100,000 people have downloaded my templates in total, of which I have made a handful of.
